Peoples of the Buddhist World, by Paul Hattaway.

This book is the best prayer resource that I have ever read about the Buddhist world. Each page gives a full colour, beautifully laid out prayer profile for one of the 238 known Buddhist people groups. The book includes maps, facts and figures as well as many eye catching photographs. Interspersed are thirteen intriguing articles covering many aspects of Buddhism, which are written in such a way that they are accessible to everyone, no matter how little or much prior knowledge of the subject.

The publication of this book is very timely, as many Christians have watched the devastation of communities by the Tsunami and have asked how they can respond. God is calling many at this time to pray for the Buddhist world and this book is a key resource to equip individuals, small groups and churches. It is impossible to flick through the book without being drawn in to read further, and to pray with compassion for these people who are so close to God’s heart. Naomi, Oxford.
